About us
Evergreen Investment was started with the pure commitment that building equity is not mutually exclusive with creating community and protecting the environment. ESG (environmental, social and governance) investing is increasing in popularity around the country. Not just colleges and universities are seeking ways to invest which uphold their values, but individuals are looking for sustainable means in their quest for financial security and opportunities to invest are broadening to meet their needs. At Evergreen Investment, we work with individuals who are seeking to invest in commercial development, residential development, and mutual funds. We provide consultancy, feasibility studies, research, and project oversight to meet our investor's goals. Our commitment is to maximize return while maintaining a commitment to the principles of sustainability.
Projects
We are currently working on three separate projects:
Peters Township, PA, We are working on commercial and residential development. Located at Waterdam and Hwy 19 in Peters Township, PA, Evergreen Investment is serving as the owner representative on a $30 million commercial and residential building project. In 2019, we will break ground to create Spirit of Peters which will serve as a gateway into Peters Township. The development will have restaurants, retail space, and condominiums and will cater to the sophistication and everyday needs of the active, growing township.
Walnut Grove Residential Development located at Thomas and Springdale Road in North Strabane Township, PA Evergreen Investment is serving as the owner representative in a 29 lots residential development. We will break ground in spring of 2019 and we expect to start selling lots as early as the summer for homes in the range of $350,000-$450,000.
We are also planning on residential development in Beaver Valley, PA Evergreen Investment serves as the owner representative in the sale of 126 acres for residential development. Development of the project will begin in the summer of 2019.

John Rodenberg started his first company, JR's Home Maintenance, in 1986 renovating residential real estate in the Washington D.C. Metro Area. Seeking to enrich himself beyond financial wealth, he completed his undergraduate in 1989 and a Masters degree in 1993 and spent six years building preschools and starting income generating projects in rural Africa. In 1999, John and his spouse returned to the United States with their first child, where John spent 18 year's leading non-profit organizations on the West Coast. His leadership culminated with his position of Vice President of Philanthropy and Mission Implementation at Christian Church Homes, a national, affordable housing non-profit company. In 2016, upon the family's transition to the East Coast, John decided to build upon his non-profit administration experience and pursue his social entrepreneurial dreams by founding Evergreen Investment. Today, he works to provide financial security to his investors while building community and preserving the environment. John is married to Dr. Tamara Nichols Rodenberg, President of Bethany College in Bethany, WV. They have two teenage children, Heather and Matthew.
